Liver Disease

The liver is the largest organ in the body, and plays important role in regulating life processes. The liver is responsible for refining everything we eat, breathe, and absorb through your skin, and converting nutrients in the food we eat into muscles, energy, hormones, clotting factors and immune factors.

It helps in resisting infection and removal of bacteria from the blood stream, and stays healthy. The term "liver disease" applies to many diseases and disorders that cause the liver to function improperly or stop functioning. Abdominal pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), or abnormal results of liver function tests suggest you have liver disease. Poor nutrition is rarely a cause of liver disease, but good nutrition in the form of a balanced diet, may help liver cells damaged by viruses. Various supplements are useful for individuals who suffer from liver-related diseases.
